Egenolf Program
The hours of the program at Egenolf Early Childhood Center are from 7:30 am until 5:30 pm. All children are served breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack which meet the nutritional guidelines of the USDA Child and Adult Food Program. Using the HighScope Curriculum, children develop social, cognitive, physical, artistic, and sensory skills. Each classroom follows a specific schedule designed to enhance the development of all children in a way that capitalizes on the specific interests and skill level of each child. Through interactions with their environment, children develop a lifelong love for learning. Egenolf graduates are well prepared for success in kindergarten and in life. .

| THE PROGRAM
Egenolf Early Childhood Center collaborates with the Elizabeth Board of Education in the delivery of the Abbott preschool program. Funds are provided to the center to deliver the high quality program in compliance with the criteria of the court mandated preschool program. THE CURRICULUM
Egenolf Early Childhood Center practices the High Scope Curriculum.

Classroom staff are trained to enhance child directed activities to scaffold children’s learning. A defined schedule guides the children through a “plan-do-review” routine. Learning is acquired through play-based activities during which the classroom staff enhance language, thinking, socio-emotional, and creative skills of all children. Class size is limited to 15 children under the direction of a lead teacher and an assistant. Each teacher holds a Preschool-3rd Grade Certification and a Bachelor’s Degree. Each Teacher Assistant holds a Child Development Associate through the Council for Professional Recognition (http://www.cdacouncil.org).
