Why Egenolf Early Childhood Center?

Egenolf Early Childhood Center has delivered high-quality child care and preschool in Elizabeth since December 4, 1890. We have served generations of families who trust and love our program. We are committed to high quality, so we pursued and earned national accreditation status through the National Association for the Education of Young Children since 1994. Egenolf ECC was the first to acquire national accreditation and remained one of the few in New Jersey and the country.

As a beacon for early childhood education, Egenolf ECC hosted the California state cabinet aimed to replicate the Egenolf ECC program in California. We hosted a delegation of eight other states who also visited Egenolf ECC to integrate our programming into their states. And we hosted representatives of two countries interested in implementing our program model in their nations. We are proud to hold an international reputation for high-quality early childhood education.

Egenolf ECC is fortunate to have a very stable staff who enjoy working in our program and are committed to upholding our reputation for excellence. We value our staff and appreciate their dedication to children, families, and each other.

Egenolf ECC has been spotlighted in books, journals, articles, television, newspapers, and radio. Representatives of Egenolf ECC have been appointed to special committees of the governor's office, a member of the Early Care and Education Coalition, which guided New Jersey preschool regulations, and our executive director received a coveted state award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education. Our board of directors comprises community leaders who ensure continuity of high quality.
